Position Summary
The backhoe operator is responsible for operating heavy construction equipment called a backhoe, primarily used for excavating dirt, rock, and other materials by digging trenches, holes, and foundations, as well as grading and leveling land. You will need a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate heavy
equipment.

General Expectations
Consistent Attendance – I understand that last minute callouts, no call/no-shows, tardiness, and failure to adequately schedule my PTO results in a hardship for Warrior Technologies and could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Professional Appearance – I understand that I need to maintain good hygiene and grooming and represent Warrior Technologies to the highest standard allowable in my position.
Communication – I understand that I must be respectful and professional in my communication with others in the course of my employment including but not limited to verbal, written, and electronic.
Paperwork – I understand that I must complete paperwork required of me in a timely manner including but not limited to new hire paperwork, annual benefits paperwork, work orders, and safety paperwork.
Timekeeping – I understand that I am responsible for clocking in and out and entering ticket numbers into my own timesheet. I understand that I am responsible for notifying my supervisor of a missed punch in a timely manner. I understand that I am not permitted to alter my time, and doing so is grounds for termination.
Safety Expectations
Zero Tolerance Workplace – I understand that Warrior Technologies is a “Zero Tolerance” workplace, and a positive drug or alcohol screen will result in immediate termination.
Safe Driving – I understand that I am expected to always practice safe driving while representing Warrior Technologies.
Safety Training – I understand that I am responsible for timely completion of all safety training required of me.
PPE – I understand that I am required to always wear all issued personal protective equipment as required by the task and customer.
Accident Reporting – I understand that I am responsible for reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately to my supervisor. Failure to report an accident or incident could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Position Specific Expectations
Skillfully maneuvering the backhoe to dig, load, and dump materials using the bucket and boom controls.
Identifying and locating underground utilities before excavation, marking digging areas, and preparing the site for excavation.
Interpreting construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate excavation work.
Performing routine maintenance checks on the backhoe, including fluid levels, and reporting any malfunctions.
Communicating effectively with other construction workers and supervisors to coordinate operations on the site.
Ensuring the accuracy and quality of excavation work by checking measurements and maintaining proper grading.
Mechanical aptitude: Understanding the mechanics of heavy machinery and how to troubleshoot basic issues.
Hand-eye coordination: Precisely controlling the backhoe’s movements to achieve desired results.
Physical strength and endurance: Ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
Attention to detail: Monitoring the work area and equipment to ensure safety and quality.
Work Environment: Primarily outdoors on construction sites, exposure to weather elements, dust, and noise, may require working in tight spaces or on uneven terrain
