Position Summary
The Swamper position is responsible for the successful assistance in completion of hydro excavation processes. Swampers are required to assist Hydrovac drivers to excavate, load, dig, or break rocks, debris, dirt, or other materials. This position involves tank cleaning and jetting tank bottoms. The swamper may be required to complete tasks in confined spaces. This position does not require a driver’s license, but a valid driver’s license is preferred.

General Expectations
- Consistent attendance – I understand that last minute callouts, no call/no-shows, tardiness, and failure to adequately schedule my PTO results in a hardship for Warrior Technologies and could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
- Professional appearance – I understand that I need to maintain good hygiene and grooming and represent Warrior Technologies to the highest standard allowable in my position.
- Communication – I understand that I must be respectful and professional in my communication with others in the course of my employment including but not limited to verbal, written, and electronic.
- Paperwork – I understand that I must complete paperwork required of me in a timely manner including but not limited to new hire paperwork, annual benefits paperwork, work orders, and safety paperwork.
- Timekeeping – I understand that I am responsible for clocking in and out and entering ticket numbers into my own timesheet. I understand that I am responsible for notifying my supervisor of a missed punch in a timely manner. I understand that I am not permitted to alter my time and doing so is grounds for termination.
Safety Expectations
- Zero Tolerance Workplace – I understand that Warrior Technologies is a “Zero Tolerance” workplace, and a positive drug or alcohol screen will result in immediate termination.
- Safe Driving – I understand that I am expected to always practice safe driving while representing Warrior Technologies. Not applicable if you do not have a valid driver’s license.
- Safety Training – I understand that I am responsible for timely completion of all safety training required of me.
- PPE – I understand that I am required to always wear all issued personal protective equipment as required by the task and customer.
- Accident Reporting – I understand that I am responsible for reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately to my supervisor. Failure to report an accident or incident could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Position Specific Expectations
- Crew Trucks (as applicable to employees driving crew trucks) – I understand I am responsible for the upkeep of my vehicle’s cleanliness, tools, and fuel card.
- Truck Maintenance – I understand I am responsible for assisting my driver with the upkeep of my vehicle’s cleanliness and tools.
- Equipment Accountability – I understand that I responsible for keeping equipment in excellent shape and will notify my supervisor and mechanic if something needs to be repaired immediately.
- Procedures – I understand I am responsible for assisting in setting up and inspecting grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac operation.
- Shop / Field Performance – I understand that I am responsible for making good use of my time in the shop by cleaning, prepping, and assisting where I can. I understand I am responsible for taking initiative in the field by assisting where I can and reducing idle time.
- Next-Shift Readiness – I understand that I am responsible for assisting my driver in ensuring the vehicle is ready for its next trip by maintaining water and fuel levels and keeping the cab organized. I will assist to ensure connections are ready for the next day.
- Coachability – I understand that I will be reviewed on my initiative to learn all aspects of my position and perform them to the best of my abilities. This includes asking questions, taking notes, and taking feedback and applying corrections.
